Hello beautiful! My name is Monica Davis, Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. My journey to becoming a therapist started in 2008 and has not been traditional by any means. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Indiana University Bloomington and then later obtained a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. I enjoy working with children, adults, and families as it has always been my long-life mission to strengthen and empower families.

My approach to therapy is informal yet compassionate and responsive to each client’s unique needs. I work with individuals to promote self -awareness, coping skills, and personal growth by using systems mostly grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. We will work together by guiding you to explore your concerns and build greater understanding of the different aspects of your experience from the emotional, mental, and physical to the family, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. I have experience in assisting families struggling with parenting child and adolescent issues, stress, relational issues, and divorce. My specialty is in assisting those who find difficulty with managing anxiety and depression resulting from grief and loss. As an ordained minister and Christian, my faith is incorporated into my approach to therapy, but only introduced in session when requested by clients who are wanting to include their faith and beliefs as an integral part of their treatment as well. Thank you for letting me walk with you on your path to empowerment.
